Hey all!
You know what I just realized? This year’s Emmys are the 68th Emmy Awards which means that next year will be . . .
Party on!
But now it’s time for business. In this post we will examine the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series category.
The noms:
- Anthony Anderson as Andre Johnson, black-ish
- Aziz Ansari as Dev, Master of None
- William H. Macy as Frank Gallagher, Shameless
- Thomas Middleditch as Richard, Silicon Valley
- Will Forte as Phil Miller, The Last Man on Earth
- Jeffrey Tambor as Maura Pfefferman, Transparent
You would think a really funny person like me would watch ALL the comedies because, well, I’m hilarious! But home girl has other stuff to do besides watch TV. Like check Facebook. Life gets REAL busy when you have to like a bunch of baby photos.
Of the actors nominated, I watch one of their shows. Silicon Valley. And it just happens to be one of my favorite shows on TV.

If only these guys could get on The Bachelor!
The entire ensemble is terrific – T.J. Miller as Erlich Bachman is my fave and I am still furious he was not nominated for supporting actor – but Middleditch gives an understated, nuanced performance as sometimes Pied Piper CEO Richard Hendricks. He’s just like the nerds I knew in college!
As for the other nominees, my mom loves black-ish so I hope Anthony comes in second.
In conclusion:
Who I Want to Win: Thomas Middleditch
Who Will Win: Jeffrey Tambor. They gave it to him last year and the Emmys LOVE to repeat (I’m talking to YOU Jim Parsons).
